Lets just take a moment silence for the fact that I have managed to finally get my hands on this golden palette! Ever since Carli mentioned she was creating a palette, I knew I wanted it, but being the chicken cheapskate I am, I refused to go through all the custom, shipping fees to get this product from America, and instead patiently waited with bated breath till someone released it in the U.K. Come through Beauty Bay Heyyyyyyyy! As soon as I received the notification from BB, I purchased the palette in Usain Bolt speed time and of course made sure it was a next day delivery.
Currently at over 5 million YouTube subscribers, Carli Bybel has become such a household name in the YouTube, beauty and fashion community! The girl just oozes beauty and I have been following her journey for many many years. When this Palette first came out, it literally broke the internet with everyone, plus their mama and goldfish trying to get their hands on it. I can totally see why!
The packaging is just full stop CUTE! Design in a white cardboard with a magnetic closure, its just perfect enough to compact the 10 eye shadows and 4 highlighters included. There is also a mirror, which I love because it automatically makes it travel friendly IMO. Below the mirror in a gorgeous black italic writing is Carli’s staple quote which is Aspire to Inspire. Of course with it being white its prone to get dirty sooner or later, but in the meantime, its clean and minimal and even better it fits beautifully in my little DKNY clutch bag!
This palette contains 10 eyeshadows and 4 highlighters. Five of which are matte finishes and the other 5 being shimmery finishes. The 4 highlighters are embedded with a gorgeous flower-floral like design and come in larger pans than the eyeshadows. I would described the eyeshadows as being earth tone shades (which I am obsessed with as well as warm toned) . Ranging from dusty pink and plum colours to bright gold and bronzes that you can mix together and create beautiful looks. The colours are very universal and can be worn in all seasons. I would highly suggest that they cater to all skin tones, which always makes me mark at palette 10/10 when they achieve something like this. In terms of the highlighters, the last two shades are my absolute favourite and are more favourable to darker skin tones as opposed to the first two, which would most definitely fit lighter skin tones. Although with that being said, I can still make use of the first two highlighters as a brow highlighter or inner eye colour highlight.
*Insert sh** every blogger says* The formula from this palette, is smooth, buttery, creamy and has none to little of fallout, and I’m not lying. This palette is truly the real deal. I have just about used every colour in some way and they lasted on my lids for a good 8+ hours. The eyeshadows are indeed pigmented but more so the shimmer shades than the matte shades. With the matte shades you will need to build it up a bit to reach full pigmentation. This is not too much of a problem for me as you will tend to find that a few matte palettes do require a little more product for a pigmented look.
I purchased the palette for £18 off Beauty Bay and for the 10 shades and 4 highlighters, in a relatively good pan size, I think the price is very much worth it. I also believe it is good value for money, because it comes with a mirror, which most palettes don’t (very annoying) and the glossy minimalist packaging with the magnetic closure, giving you extra security is very impressive to me.
