My Top 5 Highlighters

Highlighters, Highlighters, Highlighters! That’s the big trend that is so in at the moment. Being able to create that sun kissed look from rainy, stormy England is what it’s all about. I believe a girl can never have too many highlighters, and with the range of products around at the moment it’s like each one brings it own kind of uniqueness. So let me introduce to you Lovelies my top 5 highlighters.

Makeup Revolution Baked Bronzer Rock on world £4.00

Oh my! These are like golden stars on my cheek. Although it’s meant as a bronzer, for my skin tone it’s the perfect highlighter. I found this goodie in Superdrug and for £4 you best believe I was bagging that up. It gives me such a natural looking finish and if I want to make it more in your face and popping I’ll spray my blusher brush with my MAC fix+. This Product definitely rocks my world! Get it, Get it?

Sleek Makeup Blush in Rose Gold £4.49

This gorgeous blusher is a beautiful pinky rose with a gold shimmer. Suiting all skin tones it is highly pigmented and a little goes a long way. Sweeping it lightly across my cheeks it’s gives me the perfect highlighted glow. When it comes to long lasting staying power this blush has it all. The packaging is small and neat with a mirror which is a perfect makeup bag accessory.

Mac iridescent powder- Golden bronze (Discontinued)

So it seems this miracle in a pot is discontinued, which is so gut wrenching. But from having this product for over 3 years and I’m not that saddened. This powdered highlighter could be considered quite intense even for the most crazed highlighter addict. It gives you such a fierce radiant glow, and again with this product a little goes a long way. The undertone is quite metallic, but it’s not glittery and just leaves you with the most amazing sheen look. I’m gutted this product is no longer available.

Benefit sunbeam £19.50

This liquid golden sunshine is a must have. It’s literally like melted sun in a bottle. As required just dot and blend into cheeks and brow bones for a shimmery radiance look. This is definitely a daytime highlighter for me, and gives my cheeks such an uplift. If mixed with foundation it can give you a dewy finish and its also suitable for all skin tones.

Makeup forever star powder 922 £13.00

Now this product is actually an eyeshadow, but when I was at the makeup forever concession in Debenhams one of the workers not only applied it to the inner comers of my eyes but also onto my cheeks. I was instantly hooked. Being another highly pigmented powder, I would only use this at night. It gives off such a sparkly look its unbelievable. It is such a multi dimensional product that I use it as a highlighter, for the corners of my eyes, the centre of my eyes and even in the bow of my lips on a night out. I more than highly recommend this product. I order you to go get this gem!

That’s my top 5 highlighters lovelies. I have got some more highlighters on my wishlist that I’m hoping go purchase this year and once I do, I’ll be doing another updated highlighter review.

Who has any of the products I just mentioned and do you agree with my statements. Also what highlighters are you currently using and would recommend. I can’t wait to hear from you all, and ill see you in my next post.

Take care

  1. What a shame that the Iridescent Powder has been discontinued it looks so beautiful! I have Benefit’s High Beam but I don’t think it’s right for my skin tone at all – I’m warm toned and it’s more of a cool so it just looks wrong! Also I find it goes on too thickly and so comes out unnatural and hard to blend. The Make Up Forever Star Powder sounds really good I might have to try that when I finally get to the Make Up Forever counter on Monday!

    1. The iridescent powder is truly amazing and I’ll be gutted when it runs out. The high beam shouldn’t be thickly but more runny than anything. It’s a shame you don’t like it, have you tried mixing a bit with your foundation? So it’s not a wasted product lol. Yes definitely check out the MUFE eyeshadow x

      1. It hadn’t occurred to me to try mixing it with foundation – I’ll have to give that a go! Bet it would blend much better like that! I’ve had great results recently with the Laura Mercier baked eyeshadow in Ballerina used as a highlighter; it’s gorgeous but subtle – great for work.

  2. Hi Laura!

Great post 🙂 I have the Benefit Sunbeam and even the travel size is hard to finish for me! It literally only takes me a few dots then I smudge it out with my fingers and it’s more than enough 🙂 I wonder if I can find the second one, “Sleek Makeup Blush in Rose” somewhere in Toronto, CA? Love the colour 🙂 From where did you find it?

    Always,
