Honestly you blogger babes have been doing the rounds on Instagram, displaying all your beautiful pics and flatlays of the aesthetically eye pleasing lipstick which is Charlotte Tilbury. Double tapping the pictures so quick every time I saw someone post these lipsticks, it was only a matter of time before I fell for the almighty hype and skipped my way down to convent garden to go to their flagship store.

The store itself is so gorgeous and would be any Rose Gold lovers heaven! I headed straight to the lipstick pillow talk (everyone knows about pillow talk) and swatched it on my hand. It is such a gorgeous neutral pink shade, but once swatched on my lip, Good grief… lets just say it wasn’t a perfect match. it was initially what I went into the store to buy, but I had no option but to look for other alternatives. Immediately in the matte revolution section, the shades Bond Girl, Brown Birkin and Red Carpet Red, stuck out like a sore thumb. The sales artist happily obliged to try all three on me so I could see its difference from the swatches on my wrist.

Before I get into the swatches, lets delve in further to the claims from Charlotte Tilbury about the matte revolution lipsticks.

Lipstick Tree & Orchid extract softens, protects and hydrates lips for younger-looking, healthy lips.

• 3D glowing pigments create the illusion of lit-from-within lips that appear wider and fuller.

• Triglycerides mixed with a perfect blend of oils and waxes glides long-lasting colour onto the lips.

• Revolutionary, square, angled tip mimics the shape of a lip brush for precision application.

All three of the lipsticks I bought, are actual perfection. Being that they are matte lipsticks, I was expecting them to have a drying effect after a couple of hours… but nope, they do not dry out. Right up to the point when they start to fade and need reapplying, my lips feel completely moisturised and smooth. I usually have to reapply the lipsticks after 5 hours wear and it glides on beautifully as if you a applying it for the first time.

I swear by my MAC lipsticks but you can not compare the two. What gives Charlotte the upper hand is purely the smooth and soft feeling you get on your lips being that it is a matte formula.

PACKAGING

Charlotte Tilbury’s packaging simple gives me the 3 C’s… Chic, Classy, Classic . I can not fault the packaging AT ALL. It comes in a gorgeous darkened rouge coloured box with her logo and the details of the product imprinted in gold writing. The tube is designed in a stunning rose gold packaging.

COLOUR

The Matte Revolution lipsticks come in 12 gorgeous shades and all aim to deliver full sexy lips. The colours range from Berry, Pinks, Browns, Nude and pinks. You will definitely find a colour or few to suit you, but honestly not every single colour will suit everyone.

Birkin Brown is muted reddish brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. It is practically like second skin on my lips.

Bond Girl is like a dark reddy plum with warm undertones and is a satin finish. Its not too bold but still makes a statement on my lips.

Red Carpet Red is a cool red, that very much makes you lip stand out, looking full and plump.

FORMULA

There formula is to date one of my favourite formulas for a matte lipstick. The lipstick tree and orchid extracts are definitely a great combo, because it feels so soft and smooth applied to lips. My lips don’t feel dry but I will admit, that I can feel the lipstick on my lips which could boil down to the blending of the oil and wax ingredients. Its not irritating and after a while the feeling does subside.

PRICE

£24 is how much the lipsticks cost, and frankly I am OK with it. From the packaging to the formula to the consistency, its very much worth it. I currently have three and will not be hesitating to pick up many more, as I am so impressed by these lipsticks.
